China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
China Energy Engineering Group (CEEC) is a central state-owned enterprise supervised by SASAC and the parent of listed China Energy Engineering Corporation. It builds and operates power plants — coal, hydro, wind, solar and nuclear balance-of-plant — plus transmission networks and infrastructure, largely through engineering-procurement-construction contracts at home and along the Belt and Road. FY2024 revenue was CN¥436.71 billion.
Strengths: CEEC is one of the few contractors able to deliver full EPC scope on large thermal and renewable projects, and its installed-base experience in China gives it a reference list that overseas developers cannot easily replicate. State ownership provides access to policy banks and to projects bundled with Chinese financing, which is decisive in emerging markets. Its order book spans both conventional power and grid work, so it is less exposed to a single technology cycle.
Weaknesses: EPC contracting is a low-margin, working-capital-heavy business, and receivables from overseas sovereign clients can be slow and politically contingent. Revenue is concentrated in China, where new coal capacity is being capped and renewable tenders are highly competitive. Currency and country risk in Belt and Road markets add volatility that a domestic-focused peer would not carry.Mehr lesen ▼Weniger anzeigen ▲
